Creative & Advertising Standards
DecorAdsPro maintains a clean, product-first approach to advertising for home decor brands. These standards explain the types of products, imagery, video, messaging and promotional materials we use in campaigns managed across Pinterest, Google, Meta and other advertising channels.
Our goal is simple: create advertising that keeps the product at the centre, represents the brand accurately, and gives customers a clear and truthful reason to buy.
These standards apply to creative produced, adapted, selected, uploaded or actively managed by DecorAdsPro, including materials supplied by clients. They provide general guidance and do not require DecorAdsPro to accept, modify or use any particular asset, campaign concept or promotional approach.
1. Product-First Creative
Our preferred advertising style is clean, product-led and relevant to the buying decision.
For home decor campaigns, we prioritise:
- Product photography
- Styled interiors and room scenes
- Product close-ups and material details
- Lifestyle imagery where the product remains the focus
- Before-and-after room transformations
- Product demonstrations
- Installation and assembly footage
- Hands-only demonstrations
- Packaging and unboxing footage
- Catalog and shopping imagery
- Product-focused motion graphics
- Short-form product video
People do not need to appear in an advertisement simply to attract attention. Where a product can be communicated effectively through the product, room, material or use case itself, we prefer that approach.
2. Video Advertising
DecorAdsPro supports video advertising where it adds useful information or provides a stronger way to demonstrate a product.
Videos may show product movement, installation, texture, scale, room transformation, styling, packaging or other relevant product experiences.
We prefer video that can work effectively through:
- Visual storytelling
- On-screen text
- Product demonstrations
- Natural or environmental sound
- Product-related sound effects
- Clear spoken narration
- Clean transitions and motion
We do not require background music for video advertising.
As a standard creative policy, DecorAdsPro does not use instrumental background music in advertising materials that we create, edit or actively select for campaigns.
If a client supplies an otherwise suitable video containing background music, we may request an alternative version or, where reasonably practical and within the agreed scope, create an adapted version with the music removed or replaced.
3. People and Models in Advertising
Our default approach is to make the product, rather than the person appearing with it, the primary visual subject.
Human presence may be appropriate when it genuinely helps demonstrate product use, installation, scale or context.
Examples include:
- Installing wallpaper
- Positioning a rug
- Assembling furniture
- Opening cabinetry
- Demonstrating lighting
- Handling fabric or materials
- Unpacking a product
We generally prefer product-focused framing, hands-only demonstrations or incidental human presence where those formats communicate the same information effectively.
We do not use sexually suggestive, provocative, revealing or body-focused imagery in campaigns we manage.
We also avoid using models primarily as an attention device when their presence has little meaningful relationship to the product being advertised.
4. User-Generated Content
Customer, creator or client-supplied user-generated content can be useful when it provides authentic information about a product.
UGC is reviewed individually before use.
Suitable UGC may include genuine product demonstrations, installations, unboxings, customer experiences and product-focused testimonials.
Where appropriate, we may crop, shorten, reframe, mute or otherwise adapt client-supplied UGC so that the final advertisement meets our creative standards.
Content built primarily around glamour, provocative presentation or unrelated personal appearance may not be used even when supplied by the client.
5. Client-Supplied Creative
Clients are welcome to provide existing photography, video and other brand assets.
Supplying an asset does not automatically mean that DecorAdsPro will use that asset in paid advertising.
We may:
- Use the asset as supplied
- Recommend edits
- Crop or reformat it
- Remove or replace audio
- Create a product-focused variation
- Recommend an alternative asset
- Exclude an asset from campaigns we actively manage
Where an existing asset contains an element that falls outside these standards but the underlying footage remains useful, we will normally look for a practical alternative or edit before excluding the asset entirely.
6. Voiceovers and Audio
Spoken narration may be used when it improves product understanding.
Voiceovers should be clear, professional and relevant to the product or customer decision.
We may use natural sounds, room ambience and non-musical product or transition sound effects where appropriate.
Audio designed primarily to create a sensual or provocative presentation will not be used.
7. AI-Generated and AI-Assisted Creative
DecorAdsPro may use AI-assisted tools where appropriate for legitimate creative production, editing, ideation or presentation.
AI must not materially misrepresent the product.
We will not knowingly use AI to:
- Invent product features that do not exist
- Change materials in a misleading way
- Misrepresent product colour or finish
- Create deceptive product dimensions or scale
- Fabricate customer experiences
- Generate fake customer testimonials
- Create misleading before-and-after results
AI-assisted room staging or visualisation may be used when it provides a reasonable representation of the actual product and does not create a materially false impression for prospective customers.
Our preference remains product-focused creative rather than synthetic human models used primarily to attract attention.
8. Advertising Claims
Advertising must accurately represent the product, offer and business.
Claims about materials, origin, availability, delivery, pricing, discounts, performance, popularity or other product characteristics must have a reasonable factual basis.
We do not knowingly use:
- Fabricated product claims
- False scarcity
- Fake countdown offers
- Invented awards or rankings
- Misleading pricing
- Fabricated reviews
- Fake customer testimonials
- Misleading before-and-after comparisons
Clients are responsible for providing accurate information about their products, inventory, pricing, promotions and business operations.
If information supplied to us appears inconsistent or unsupported, we may request clarification before using it in advertising.
9. Testimonials and Reviews
Customer testimonials used in advertising should reflect genuine customer experiences.
We may edit testimonials for length, spelling or formatting where necessary, but we will not intentionally alter their substantive meaning.
Actors, creators, AI-generated people or other non-customers will not be presented as genuine customers unless the nature of the content is clearly disclosed.
10. Offers, Discounts and Urgency
Promotional messaging must correspond to a genuine commercial offer.
Examples include legitimate:
- Sale prices
- Limited inventory
- Seasonal promotions
- Free delivery offers
- Promotional codes
- Limited-time discounts
We do not intentionally create false scarcity or artificial urgency.
A statement such as “Only 3 left” should reflect actual inventory information available to the brand. A promotion described as ending on a particular date should genuinely be scheduled to end or change on that date.
11. Before-and-After Creative
Before-and-after advertising may be used when it reasonably represents the effect of the advertised product or service.
Editing may improve presentation, framing, lighting or formatting, but it should not create a transformation that materially misrepresents what the product can achieve.
12. Catalog and Shopping Advertising
Catalog-based advertising is a core part of our approach across Pinterest, Meta and Google.
Product feeds, catalog images, titles, descriptions, pricing and availability should accurately reflect the underlying store.
Where practical, we favour clean product imagery and genuine lifestyle photography that helps customers understand the product without unnecessary visual distraction.
13. Influencer and Creator Content
Influencer or creator content supplied for advertising is subject to the same standards as any other creative.
We review the specific material intended for the campaign rather than automatically approving content based on the creator or influencer who produced it.
Sponsored content should remain product-relevant, appropriately presented and truthful about the relationship between the creator and the product.
14. Products and Industries We Do Not Promote
DecorAdsPro primarily serves home decor, furniture, rugs, lighting, tile, wall decor, kitchen, bathroom and related retail categories.
We do not provide advertising services for products, businesses or campaigns centred on:
- Pornographic or sexually explicit content
- Gambling, casinos or betting
- Alcoholic beverages
- Tobacco, vaping or nicotine products
- Illegal drugs
- Fraudulent or deceptive products and services
- Predatory or deceptive financial products
- Religious organizations, religious campaigns, or products and services primarily centred on religious activities or promotion
We may decline other projects that fall outside our service focus or advertising standards.
15. Platform Requirements
All advertising remains subject to the applicable policies and technical requirements of Pinterest, Google, Meta and any other platform used for a campaign.
Platform approval does not automatically mean that an asset meets DecorAdsPro’s own creative standards.
Our internal standards may therefore be narrower than what an advertising platform technically permits.
16. Creative Testing
Performance testing remains an important part of our advertising process.
We may test different:
- Images
- Videos
- Product angles
- Headlines
- Descriptions
- Calls to action
- Formats
- Landing pages
- Product groups
Testing does not require abandoning these creative standards.
Where a proposed concept falls outside them, we will normally look for an alternative that meets these standards while preserving the underlying marketing angle and allowing the commercial hypothesis to be tested.
17. Client Requests
We aim to accommodate client creative preferences wherever they fit the agreed campaign strategy and these standards.
If a requested asset falls outside this policy, we may recommend an alternative version rather than publish or actively manage the original asset.
Where no suitable adaptation is possible, DecorAdsPro reserves the right not to use that specific creative.
This does not necessarily require ending the wider client engagement where the campaign can continue using suitable alternative assets.
18. Seasonal Promotions
DecorAdsPro supports legitimate seasonal and commercial promotions, including winter sales, summer sales, clearance events, Black Friday, Cyber Monday and other retail campaigns.
We may choose to use neutral commercial or seasonal positioning rather than creative, promotional codes, imagery or messaging centred on particular religious celebrations or other occasions that fall outside our advertising standards.
Where necessary, we may recommend alternative campaign naming, promotional codes or creative treatments while preserving the underlying offer and promotional period.
19. Changes to These Standards
Advertising formats, platforms and creative technologies continue to evolve. DecorAdsPro may update these standards as our services and creative workflows change.
The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page identifies the latest revision.
Questions about whether a particular asset is suitable can be discussed before campaign launch.
